Cupcake Mitts

After seeing these and getting the pattern. I wanted to include these on my Wednesday review. I know I usually talk about yarn. I could not resist doing this pattern today and it does tie in with yarn. I had to get this pattern after seeing these on Ravelry. I think they are so cute. Don’t you? They look like a lot of fun to make. The beautiful yarn is Nashua Julia. It is a blend of wool, alpaca and mohair. The colors are to dye for! The softness of the yarn makes it a pure pleasure to knit with and wear. I will be starting my children’s version of the Cupcake Mitts today. There is an additional post about the children’s pattern right below this one. I will blog about my process soon 🙂

I had never purchased from Etsy and wanted to tell everyone how easy and nice it was compared to using ebay. This was my first purchase from Etsy. I will certainly go back to shop for more. Karen, I hope you keep writing cute patterns. You’re so talented. If you have to have these too you can purchase the pattern from karedipity.etsy.com  on Etsy. I also have included her link to the right in my Blogroll!  Psst… Tell her I sent you! Enjoy 🙂

Christine’s Stay on Baby Booties

Christine’s Stay on Baby Booties

I found this pattern on Ravelry. If any of you have made these. I am only as you can see getting ready to begin the 2 group of knitting in the round. The sides and front of the foot seem like they will be kinda high. So, I am getting closer to the point where you have to do the short rows for the shaping. These are being knitted on a size 4 needle. I used size 1 dpn’s on the first try and they were way, way too small. So, It is now looking like a 4 might be way , way too large.. If you are interested in this pattern you can use the link in my blogroll. It is a free pattern. I love the little story they tell about it.

Olive You Hat

Awhile Back I blogged about a Knit A Long for the preemie babies. This is one of the hats I choose to do for my Ravelry group Itty-Bitty Knits. The pattern is in the book Itty Bitty Hats by Susan B. Anderson. All the hats she created are just sweet and special. I think this might be my favorite one out of the book. I decided to leave off the little pom poms on the corners since they are for little babies. My pom poms don’t come out well sometimes. I made one and had to try tying it a few times and for some reason. I can not get it tied tight enough so you can’t pull out the strands of yarn that make up the pom pom. I just thought the hat just might loose my poms anyway. It is just as cute with out them 🙂 Even though I love the added touch of the pom poms. As it stands with the colors for the pattern it is adaptable for either a girl or a boy. I have to go choose another one to knit.
The hats are starting to come on for the donation. I will take a picture and post about all of the adorable hats we will be sending. I will keep you posted.

The Fixie Hat

Another Hat! ummm done! This hat is modeled by my daughter’s baby doll Amazing McKayla. It is for my sister’s new baby girl when she gets here . It is a Larissa Brown Pattern. Which is also a free pattern on her blog The Stitch Marker. The link is provided in my blog roll as The Stitch Marker or Larissa Brown.  Please check her out. Her patterns are so cute. She also has a book coming out soon in the spring. Looks like a must have. Anyways the hat was fun and easy to knit! Very cute baby hat. Lots of options in knitting on this hat. You could add stripes or anything thing else you’s like. I wanted a fast knit so I kept it very basic. Enjoy!
